Peace Concerts in the South Pacific
Filed under asia-oceana | MG Members in other events | Music and Songs | photo - aloneSome Members of the Peace Meditation at the UN in New York were able to travel to the South Pacific on their annual leave and be present for one or more of the five Peace Concerts given in the Region featuring the music of Sri Chinmoy.
In some locations local UN or Agency staff were also able to be present.
Sri Chinmoy offered the series of peace concerts in Western Samoa, Fiji, Rarotonga and Tahiti during his recent visit to the South Pacific.
In Apia, Western Samoa, concerts were held in the John Williams Building on Dec. 22 and 28. (Anthony Patton UNDP Resident Representative was Special Guest)
In Fiji, a concert was given Jan. 5 at the Civic Center in Suva. Then, nine days later, on Jan. 14, on the island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands a concert was held at the National Auditorium in Avarua. The final concert of the series was held Jan. 20 at the Assemblde Territoriale auditorium in Papeete, Tahiti.
