Peace Run 1989 announced – UN SG quote included in Thailand Dec 1988

On Dec 24th “The Nation” discussed the very successful Peace run in 1987 and the plans for 1989.
It included mention of the Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar and his message of support:
“Your aim is to foster harmony and peaceful cooperation among nations through increased human contacts.
Your essential message is that we, the members f the human family, despite our many differences, have infinitely more to unite and bond us together.
Accordingly as Secretary-General, I wish you every success in this endeavour, for you are each ambassadors in the cause of peace.”
When their work schedules have allowed many members of the Peace Meditation a the U.N. have also participated in various activates in support of the peace run and related events at different locations around the world.
