Vijaya Catherine Claxten, 2013 Dover Honor for Swimming across the English Channel in 2007

Meditation Group Member remembered and honoured:

A bench with a special Plaque was Placed in the park facing Dover harbor. It is very close to where many individuals from around the world train to swim across the English Channel.


Vijaya Claxton was a Programme coordinator and envoy for Sri Chinmoy: the Peace Meditation at the United Nations and Coordinator of  UN’s Panel of Counsel.

After numerous attempts, she succeeded in swimming across the Chanel in on September 8,  2007
