In Memoriam: Vladimir Petrovsky 2014 Feb 21
Filed under europe | Tributes and Expressions of appreciationMr. Vladimir Petrovsky was a very good Friend and Supporter of Sri Chinmoy and the Peace Meditation Group at the United Nations. He was also very encouraging of the “Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home: World Harmony and Peace Runs” that have taken place in over 150 Countries around the world since 1987.

- 2001, On March 23, a team of international runners was greeted by Vladimir Petrovsky, Director General of the United Nations Office in Geneva, as the Peace Run arrived at the Palais des Nations. - 2007 jun-29 An old friend of the World Harmony Run, former Director-General of the U.N. in Geneva Mr. Vladimir Petrovsky, also met with our team afterwards for a nice photo. We exchanged warm words and shared some good memories about Mr. Petrovsky’s time in Geneva.
- 2005 May 27th: A special ceremony in connection with the World Harmony Run was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on May 27th 2005. World Harmony Runners from several countries held the Harmno run torch, and Sri Chinmoy performed his spiritual music on several different instruments. Vladimir Petrovsky, the former Director-General of the UN in Geneva, was one of the main speakers.
