26 June 1991, United Nations delegates and staff joined in a Peace Walk for United Nations Charter Day on .

The event was co-sponsored by a number of Permanent Representatives of United Nations Member States along with the Peace Meditation. Participants walked in meditative silence through a portion of the United Nations garden, carrying a copy of the Preamble to the United Nations Charter.
