NEW YORK-Sri Chinmoy gave the opening meditation at a programme April 27 commemorating Namibia’s entry into the United Nations.

During the programme, he met with Foreign Minister Ben Gurirab of Namibia, as well as the ambassadors of Thailand and Kenya, as part of an international effort to save the elephant.

To emphasize their concern, the three countries are presenting a life sized statue of an elephant to the next
General Assembly.

The event took place at the chapel of the Church Center for the United Nations.
