7 December, 1984 ,the peace Meditation Group at the UN organized a Programme to honour the founder of the Temple of Understanding, Mrs. Judith Hollister, Well know for her support for interfaith initiatives, Mrs. Holister was admired by the group and participated in a number of programmes at UN with members. For example, the Temple of Understanding organized the i
nterfaith “One is the Human Spirit” conference at the time of the 30th Anniversary of the UN where Sri Chinmoy gave the opening meditation. In 1977 on the 20th Anniversary of the Redesign of the Meditation “Room of Quiet” at UN headquarters meeting organized by the Peace Meditation group, she spoke in Conference Room 4 and represented the Wainright House where the furnishing from the original meditation room are honored.
